This beach is located in the Na Jomtien area, which lies south of Jomtien and is technically outside the city limits of Pattaya. As a result, it’s a much quieter and more rural area.
A road from Sukhumvit leads to Bacco Beach, stretching a few hundred yards (200-300 meters) through forest and wetlands, with little else along the way. The road ends at the beach’s two main attractions: the Italian restaurant Bacco Beach and The Glass House, known for its glasshouse structure at the center of its open veranda.
Surrounding these restaurants are several peaceful, green hotels. If you step onto the beach and head left towards Ambassador Hotel, you’ll find a long stretch of casuarina trees and a popular spot for kitesurfers just beyond. During the low tide season, typically in March, strong winds blow through the area—perfect conditions for kitesurfing.

Swimming
Bacco Beach stretches about 0.6 miles (1 kilometer) and is ideal for those seeking a peaceful beach escape from city noise, without the hustle of numerous beach activities. Many visitors are long-term Pattaya residents who come to enjoy the two beachfront restaurants or to relax quietly under the casuarina trees.
Unlike Pattaya’s city beaches, Bacco Beach doesn’t have rows of rental sunbeds, shops, beach vendors, or jet skis, which adds to its charm. There are a few upscale hotels nearby, though these are somewhat secluded from the bustling areas.
However, Sukhumvit Road is close by, making it easy to reach any part of Pattaya by private vehicle, taxi, or shared tuk-tuks. The beach has both secluded spots and more populated areas. It doesn’t attract many outsiders—mostly guests from the nearby hotels and diners from the restaurants.
On the Pattaya side, the beach ends where a river flows into the sea, while the other end is bordered by another small river with a kitesurfing school on the shore. Beyond that, you can spot the Ambassador Hotel and its beach.
Sunbeds and Shade
During high tide, the water entry is convenient and steep, with relatively clean water during the high season. In the off-season, around February to March, low tides and strong winds bring waves and stir up the water, turning it a murky yellow. Swimming is less enjoyable during low tide due to the shallowness.
This is also the time when kitesurfers practice near the quieter end of the beach close to the Ambassador. Their parachutes occasionally crash into the water with a loud slap, so it’s best to keep your distance and swim in the middle of the beach, near the restaurants, or at the opposite end.

Amenities
Aside from the two charming restaurants, Glass House and Bacco Beach, there isn’t much else in terms of infrastructure at Bacco Beach. You won’t find many rental sunbeds, shops, or the usual beach activities here. There are just a couple of benches near Pinnacle Grand Jomtien Resort & Spa.
For those who aren’t staying at the nearby hotels or visiting the beach restaurants, there’s little in terms of entertainment or tourist facilities. However, if you’re at one of the two cafés or staying in one of the beachfront hotels, you’ll have all the necessary comforts.
Nearby attractions include the Alangkarn Show Theatre, the Floating Market, an elephant riding camp, and further south toward Sattahip, the Ambassador City Jomtien Hotel. Near the Ambassador Hotel, you’ll also find food stalls, souvenir shops, 7-Eleven and Family Mart stores, and the Mimosa entertainment complex, which features boutiques and a cabaret show.
Between Bacco Beach and Ambassador Beach, there’s the KiteBoarding Asia (KBA Pattaya) kitesurfing school.

There are no rental houses directly on the beach, but inland between the sea and Sukhumvit Road, there are a few villages with upscale villas. For more affordable accommodations—rooms, apartments, and houses—Huay Yai Road is a good option, though it’s about 1.2 miles (2 kilometers) from the beach.
How to Find the Beach
Bacco Beach is located just outside Pattaya’s city limits in Na Jomtien, about 6 miles (10 kilometers) south of Pattaya’s center. To reach the beach, drive south on Sukhumvit Road toward Nong Nooch Tropical Garden.
After passing the Floating Market and across from Alangkarn Theatre on the left, turn right onto Na Jomtien 10th Street. If you’re coming from Pattaya, you’ll need to make a U-turn about 0.4 miles (600 meters) past the Sukhumvit intersection.
You can also reach the beach by heading toward B2 Sea View Pattaya Boutique & Budget Hotel, following signs for the Glass House restaurant. A narrow road, about 0.5 miles (800 meters) long, will take you directly to the beach.
If not using a taxi or private transport, you can still reach the beach. White tuk-tuks run along Sukhumvit Road, though you’ll need to cross the road if coming from central Pattaya (not recommended). Alternatively, get off 0.4 miles (700 meters) before the 10th Street turn and use the pedestrian bridge over Sukhumvit, then walk about 0.6 miles (1 kilometer) along the road to the beach.
You can also walk to Bacco Beach from the Ambassador Hotel’s beach. Bacco Beach is about 0.9 miles (1.5 kilometers) north, in the direction of Pattaya.
